Not your father's definition of alcoholism: June 9

It's a lie we tell ourselves ... a justification ... that we never failed the family or employer because we were some sort of functional alcoholic.  Sure, an alcoholic can show up and even fool a few people.  No active alcoholic is a peak performer.  Being under the influence or plotting your next drink takes productivity out of work time and enjoyment out of family time.
